AFAIK buggies aren't in for launch - they're looking to possibly bring them in afterwards. Shame really - I thought they offered something different for the battle.

Damn shame if they aren't there for launch, they were soo much fun. I hear there aren't loadout slots or back packs any more either, bit dubious that this is a good thing, have to see how it works out... although if they copy games like BF3 and CoD for the item menu that won't be too lame. - And how come I never see you on our Mumble server! - which incidentally i'll upgrade to 50 or 75 slots when PS2 is ready.

It's heavy assault week! (NC | TR | VS )

And also a quick run down of the other classes shown off so far:
Engineer (TR | NC | VS)
Medic (TR | NC | VS)
Infiltrator (TR | NC | VS)
Light Assault(TR | NC | VS)

As for my lack of mumbling - I'll sort that out - unfortunately I've been a bit too busy lately (Goldeneye finally moving out and moving in with his missus, whilst my GF has just moved in) to do much in the way of gaming (though give it 3 weeks and that'll change!) =P

Edit!

"Mana" Turret courtesy of TRay's tweeting.

Edit 2- VS Heavy assault up now - gotta say, it's gotta be the first armour set I really don't like the look of at all (bar most of the NC stuff).

Few things:

NS have released a picture of a new vehicle (link coming soon)

Don Ferrone confirmed to be 1 of the 2 composers for the game!! Boom! =D
Also, higby did some redditing for clarifying cash shop details:
Higgles wrote:I've addressed this a few times in interviews in the past, but here's the basic gist. Planetside 2 has three fundamental types of items:

Power adding items - items such as grandes, med kits, certain types of implants (like a run speed booster), these items fundamentally alter player power and are acquired exclusively with resources earned in game.

Playstyle items - these are sidegrades for vehicles and weapons, these switch up playstyle, and as much as possible are balanced against one-another to not add absolute power. These are available for Resources earned in game or Station Cash.

Non-gameplay affecting items - things like cosmetic skins, resource or xp boosts, etc. These don't have any impact on moment-to-moment gameplay and therefore player power and are available for Station Cash

So, as you can see, anything that gives any gameplay impact of any kind is always going to be available through gameplay. You wont be able to unlock a gameplay affecting item exclusively for Station Cash, there will be an in-game acquisition path as well, you're just bypassing (or shortcutting) it by using Station Cash.

Additionally, none of our item sidegrades really give a discrete power advantage, and those items which do (such as grenades, etc) are available exclusively for in-game resources. So, while you can unlock different playstyle choices with Station Cash, you're not really buying an advantage overall, you're just unlocking different situational breadth.

I thing the VS heavy assault model is okay, just think everything Vanu looks unfinished. The NC look complete - seems the devs have a major boner for NC.
Need some better textures on the vanu models me thinks.

I'm still a bit gutted we haven't got the aweome pearlescent sheen our armour had in the first game (though the TR heavy looks like it's sporting some on it's torso).

In other news, NS base turret - appears to be AA I think

Imo i think the TR heavy looks best then vs and nc. Dont like the VS hat tho looks wierd and tooo grey. Kind of put ps2 on the back burner for a while. Not alot of NEW information coming out, so ill continue playing wargame european escelation? (if u like RTS this is worth looking at) and wait till diablo 3

There's been a fair few new bits and pieces tweeted out last week - unfortunately I've not had a chance to get them linked here - I'll get that sorted over the next day or two.
