Reset Birthdays

Postby _Chipwiz_Ben_ » 21 Jan 2006, 11:16

It seems that on the index page the birthday announcement at the bottom has locked up on the 31st December and not moved onto the new year. All the upcoming birthdays are between the 1st and 7th of Jan according to it.

It's my birthday today and I feel lonely

Thanks everyone. It's been a good day today; still felt normal though. I guess as you get older the novilty wears off and things don't shine as bring, colours become duller and you begin to realise that when you were a kid, all you wanted to be was a grown-up; but now, all I want to be is a kid again.

Playing games with you guys reminds me of the good times I had playing old classics like Age of Empires and Doom. It makes me happy thinking young again.

Maybe I've not lived long enough yet to see the true benefits of being older and more independant. Until then, I'll be here with the cheeky monkehs pwning some nubs like in the best parts of life.

Thanks for being here for me guys.

And you consider yourself old? Older yes but if the shine of it all has gone then you need a wake up call. Or new glasses. I wish I was 17 again.

I feel as though it's all down hill from here. What do I have to look forward too? Paying obscene amounts to a dictatorship-like government so that illegal immigrants can have a nice home and car? A high stress, high demand job which I probably won't enjoy? Watching criminals get away with murder and seeing the honest, tax paying general public take the hit with speed cameras, insurance small print and the 'no fun' signs everywhere.

When you look, what does this country produce anymore? Nothing, it produces nothing in mass. Our steel and cotton industries blew away in the wind along time ago. All the big manufacturers of anything in Britain are now owned by forigners. Take the motor industry for example, Vauxhall are now owned by General Motors, TVR are owned by the Russians and Lotus are owned by Proton. Anything else died out along time ago in exactly the same way Rover did. This country, one of the richest in the world, can't engineer a car as well as the Malaysians; so our industry fell to its knees and went bankrupt.

Just look at the adverts on the TV nowadays. It's depressing. You will notice that 80% of the adverts, even when the childrens programmes are on, are insurance companies and personal injury specialists. Now what do these guys produce? They bleed the public of money, or move it around. They don't do anything, just move money about and take a healthy chunk for themselves plummeting the public into debt. When they are in debt, the credit card companies and banks have a field day squeesing you of money that you don't have.

Yet the government, and the EU; still add new safety laws, which costs businesses billions every year to meet. If they don't, somebody will sue. Oh see, the personal injury and insurance companies making money again.

Yet, knowing this, you will still see people driving about in brand new Mercs and Range Rovers to mearly impress the neighbours.

People with brains picked up and left along time ago. Moving to places like France, Spain, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The people moving in are from Pakistan, Africa and the midde-east and bring no resources, busness, skills or money. Somebody has to pay for these people to have somewhere to live. I guess it will have to be the general public, those that don't actually have any money.

This country is in decline.

An answer Ben

Postby ralph305 » 23 Jan 2006, 12:40

You were on a role I see, what you say is true even over here. But at your age you still are foot loose and fancy free for the most part. At your age you still are in good health, and have a long life ahead of you. As much of what you say being true there is a brighter side to this as well. Your mom and dad are alive, you haven't killed anyone, been in a foreign war, and many other things. You just need to look about you and try and see the wonder of it all as a whole. Not in pieces. Cheer up Ben, there is alot more out there. :) :) It takes less muscles to smile than to frown.
