i need help laying down a good space marine strat... i always run out of resourses... and trust me im getting all the points i can get!!!!

We'll at the beggining of a game, i build:

1x Worker
2x Scout Squad
Space Marine Building - (Forget the name but the one you build space marines from funnily enough!)
1x Power Plant
1x Listening Post at the most likely place you will be attacked
1x Heavy Bolter Turret

And then i work my way from their :P

first i build a baracks, as im building my barracks i build: a unit of scouts and a secound worker. the worker build an armoury as the scout caputres points. when hes finished i build a listening post, and a unit of spacemarines(tactical squad), then i continue caputring points and controlling as many as possible building listening post if possible. as i mass tactical squads with rockets/plasma guns/heavy bolters!!. then i get some dreds and some preds.... then i kill things....


but i recently found out that orcs own all!!!! so i have found a new army to dominate with!!!!!

ha ha here lies the probelm.... if you try to expand too quickly you will spread yourself too thin and get over run..

The key is to expand by capturing points you can hold... once you have a new post... build a listening post... get some defences up then advance..

I remember a time I was playing a skirmish with da Bunneh and menacer.. i almost had the entire bottom of the map to myself so I thought I would build scouts and go capture as many points as possible

Bad idea... yeah I captured loads of posts but spread myself to thin and my base got over run...

Yarrick if you remember on that map we played on, I made alot of turrets right infront of the Space Marine guys base (was that one yours... i forget :/), then everytime either of the opponents came near my base they were owned by turrets.

Btw heavy bolters are only good for long range they arent really all that good if your gonna get any of your squads into close / quick fighting combat, Plasma rifles and rocket launchers are good for most squads, as they only have to stand still to use rocket launchers. :)

i was wondering if you guys had any good orc stategys... i mostly get lots of slugga boys with shoota boys covering there movements (big mech in the bigest shoota boy unit) and then i have a few war truckas.

and then later in the game i get as many nobs as i can!!! nobs own!

major ownage if you give them all power claws... god i love power claws they look so dam cool!!!!
